Sarah J. Maas ACOTAR Series Gains Renewed Popularity Ahead Of TV Adaptation...

Sarah J. Maas' bestselling fantasy romance series A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) is surging in popularity again as fans anticipate its upcoming TV adaptation. The renewed interest comes after Hulu confirmed last week that the project is moving forward with Outlander producer Ronald D. Moore attached.

Bookstores across the U.S. reported increased ACOTAR sales this week, with Barnes & Noble confirming a 40% spike in orders. Social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram are flooded with fan art, theories, and casting wish lists using the hashtag #ACOTARHulu, which has gained over 200,000 posts since the announcement.

The five-book series, which blends fantasy, romance, and fairy tale elements, has sold over 12 million copies worldwide since its 2015 debut. Its resurgence follows Maas' recent success with her Crescent City series, whose third installment topped bestseller lists last month.

Libraries in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago report months-long waitlists for ACOTAR copies. "We can't keep these books on the shelves," said Chicago Public Library's fantasy specialist Elena Rodriguez. "New readers are discovering them daily."

The trend reflects growing demand for fantasy romance adaptations following hits like Bridgerton and Shadow and Bone. Industry analysts note ACOTAR's potential to become Hulu's next flagship series, though no casting or release date has been announced yet.

Maas, who maintains an active Instagram presence with 1.3 million followers, has not commented on the TV project but shared fan art this week with the caption "Prythian lives on." Her publisher Bloomsbury confirms new ACOTAR special editions will release this fall.
