Tame Impala Announces 2026 Australia Tour Dates...
Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala has announced a highly anticipated 2026 tour across their home country, marking their first full-scale Australian tour in four years. Frontman Kevin Parker revealed the 12-date stadium tour today, with shows scheduled in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide between November and December 2026.
The tour announcement comes after months of speculation from fans, with presale tickets set to begin March 7 through the band's official website. General ticket sales will open March 10 via Ticketek. The band last performed in Australia during their 2022 'The Slow Rush' tour, which sold out within hours.
'We've been working on some special production elements just for these homecoming shows,' Parker said in a statement. The tour will feature material from their upcoming fifth studio album, expected to release in late 2026, alongside fan favorites from their Grammy-winning discography.
Venues include Sydney's Accor Stadium (November 28), Melbourne's Marvel Stadium (December 5), and Perth's Optus Stadium (December 19). The band will be joined by special guests Pond and Gum, fellow Perth-based acts with ties to Parker's production work.
Australian fans flooded social media following the announcement, with #TameImpala2026 trending nationally on Twitter. The tour marks one of the largest Australian productions for the band, known for their elaborate light shows and immersive concert experiences.
Industry analysts predict strong demand, noting Tame Impala's growing international profile following their 2025 Coachella headline performance. The band currently holds the record for most ARIA Awards won by a single artist in one night, taking home five trophies in 2020.
Tour promoter Frontier Touring confirmed additional shows may be added if initial dates sell out quickly. The band will follow the Australian tour with Asian and European dates in early 2027, though specific cities haven't been announced.
Tame Impala's last studio album debuted at #1 in over 15 countries, cementing their status as Australia's most successful contemporary rock export. The upcoming tour is expected to feature new stage production designed in collaboration with longtime visual artist Leif Podhajsky.
Fans can register for presale access through the band's mailing list until March 3. Ticket prices range from $99 to $299 AUD, with VIP packages including exclusive merchandise and early venue entry.
