Scottie Schefflers 2025 Masters Win Resonates Ahead Of This Years Tournament...

Golf fans are revisiting Scottie Scheffler's dominant 2025 Masters victory as the 2026 tournament begins this week at Augusta National. The world No. 1's four-stroke win over Rory McIlroy last April marked his second green jacket in three years, cementing his status as golf's top player.

Scheffler's 2025 triumph is trending as analysts compare his current form to last year's performance. The 29-year-old Texan enters this year's Masters as the heavy favorite after winning two of his last three PGA Tour events. ESPN reports betting odds of +400 for Scheffler to repeat as champion.

Last year's final round featured a dramatic back-nine charge from McIlroy, who shot 64 to finish second. Scheffler held firm with clutch par saves on holes 11 and 12 before sealing victory with a birdie on 18. His 11-under total earned him $3.24 million from the tournament's $20 million purse.

The win made Scheffler just the fifth player to win multiple Masters before age 30, joining Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, and Jordan Spieth. Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee called it "the most complete performance at Augusta since Tiger's 2019 win."

Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley praised Scheffler's "remarkable composure under pressure" during last year's presentation ceremony. The champion donated portions of his winnings to his church and several Dallas-area charities, a gesture that resonated with fans.

As players tackle Augusta's famed azalea-lined fairways this week, all eyes will be on whether Scheffler can join Woods, Nick Faldo, and Nicklaus as the only back-to-back Masters winners. The tournament runs April 10-13, with CBS broadcasting weekend coverage.
